i have a little question, why this app doe not find the connexion to my server (it's only a question if anyone have the solution to fix this problem)

This package is broken. First: it seems to work but does not sync, second: it is always shown as outdated in Octopi, do I update it and immediately is marked as outdated. This never happened to any AUR package, even those marked as outdated. It's as if it was constantly detecting new version but couldn't install it, so something in PKGBUILD is wrong. I installed then nextcloud-client and it works out of the box, unlike this version.

What should we do if this packages is not maintained anymore ?

Git packages must have a makedepend on git. This will not build in a container without it.

Nice PKGBUILD, but the pkgver function needs to be updated to remove the leading "v".

$ vercmp v2.5.0.beta2.r76.g901303668-1 2.5.0-1
-1

The version that gets built is "less than" the version advertised by the AUR, which makes AUR helpers think there's always an update available.

Adding "s/^v//;" to the sed command in pkgver() fixes this.

@tyzoid: What you think is the proper name? nextcloud-client or nextcloud-desktop? What is the binary name produced by this package for instance?

Thanks, disastro, the PKGBUILD has been updated to depend on qt5-svg.

disastro commented on 2018-08-16 23:01

Needs qt5-svg since https://github.com/nextcloud/desktop/commit/156605c2fa897e82595aa30473dff43c5ebb4805

EDIT: To add, it's needed on build (fails to build otherwise) and runtime, won't cause a failure to start on runtime but causes some visual glitches from missing images.

OK, it’s time to start cleaning the mess around the desktop client in AUR.

This package should be a merging of itself and https://aur.archlinux.org/cgit/aur.git/tree/PKGBUILD?h=nextcloud-desktop-git. The theming repo is deprecated, this git package should build from the actual git tree for the NextCloud client.

@friendofarch sorry nextcloud client has not reached version 2.5, the owncloud client has a tech preview to that version.
