When I was still maintaining this package, I noticed that the upstream releases were not handled properly: every time a new version was published, the author would simply replace the old .deb files in the same release instead of creating a new one. To make matters worse, the files included in each release—along with their filenames—were inconsistent. The author would often add or remove them arbitrarily. This made packaging extremely difficult for me and was one of the reasons I eventually abandoned maintaining the package.

I actually brought this up in an issue to remind the author, but they ignored it.

Why's the deb and Notepad-- executable different [28A3E2FD954EB538A0D1623A0FF26AC2DEC22AA72DE7E1038649EDD66F4BDA90] than what upstream [C6C4A28915011F18B3488916CE1CF2F0C4574799F3F0FF940C90383DBE96F29F] provides and why's that hosted externally on foreign github repo, upstream provides binaries directly as releases, so this seems kinda sus and does not pass the snifftest...
