Uhm - how to use it? I have checked settings, flash is set to VLC. Yet on YT standard player launches.

Works for me without issues.

stopped working as of today, maybe some upgrade disabled it.

No. Already did it. Just wanted to say that.

Does it break something then? Maybe I just got lucky when it built..

No.

OK, so it seems to work. Please change xulrunner to npapi-sdk in the builddepends. Thanks

timseal commented on 2012-04-27 01:22 (UTC)

This won't build if you have Eclipse, bizarrely enough. Eclipse conflicts with xulrunner (one of the npapi-vlc-git makedepends) because it sometimes crashes when xulrunner is around. There are bugs filed but they haven't been fixed yet. (An unfortunate "holistic packaging" bug?) The answer from https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?pid=1072734#p1072734 says "makedepends is wrong. xulrunner can be replaced with npapi-sdk and nothing will conflict." I did this and the package built successfully. Haven't actually run it yet, because I have to restart the browser...which I am currently using to type this exciting comment. -TKA

Actually it's _firefox_ 9.0.1 :) (10.0 is the latest one). But anyway that seems really simple. If you insist on not wanting to use this package you can create a separate one. But it would probably be best to create a bug report for [extra]'s vlc and suggest that patch. I don't see any reason to not include it. E: or not a bug report but a _feature request_.
