Probably just the same, depending on how upstream packages AR.

Probably just the same, depending on how AR will be packaged.

Seems like ntfs-3g and ntfsprogs have been merged. How will this play out for ntfs-3g-ar users once the combined updated package hits extra repo?

[From misc, 18 Aug 2010]
"it does regularly seem (!) to set invalid or incomplete attributes (or cause a Windows program to do so)"
Can you elaborate on this ?
Thanks, Jean-Pierre

I've been using it for my partitions (incl. W7 system one) for some months now, particularly so Firefox & co. can run with one shared profile. If you enable windows_names so it doesn't allow names deemed invalid by Windows it runs just fine, though slow if you copy or move large files. However, it does regularly seem (!) to set invalid or incomplete attributes (or cause a Windows program to do so), so a chkdsk every now and then is still required.

LeCrayonVert commented on 2010-08-05 17:27

Is it safe enough for daily use ?

misc commented on 2010-07-23 20:57

Well, now it is: 2010.6.31AR.2 is out.

heftig commented on 2010-07-01 22:42

Not out of date. 3.6AR.4 is still the latest *stable* release.
