Isn't this just a duplicate of ntp in [extra]?

If your concern is not hard drive space, use the ntp package from extra which includes configuration files about running as a client. It will save you the time wasted to build this package.

Thanks, but where is the ntpdate manpage ? The ones that are installed by this package don't seem useful.
