Is this the complete icon pack? Why are there no application icons?

. . . Checking PKGBUILD Checking numix-icon-theme-git-0.r1945.5890eebcf-1-any.pkg.tar.xz numix-icon-theme-git W: Dependency included and not needed ('gtk-update-icon-cache') It seems gtk-update-icon-cache isn't needed.

`makepkg` just pulls new updates from git after the initial clone.

Isn't it better to download the master zip instead of cloning the whole repository? There is around 2K commits for that repository which is not used after download. the same can be downloaded from https://github.com/numixproject/numix-icon-theme/archive/master.zip or, just using shallow clone (with --depth=1)of the same will do the trick

I think gtk-update-icon-cache can be dropped from all the numix-*-git as we have now the libalpm/gtk-update-icon-cache.hook. A dependency on gtk-update-icon-cache is then needed tough.

No, the original way was without the leading slash, the leading slash started being accepted not so long ago. Anyway, both work, there is no problem.

It seems to me the leading slash of the path in the post-install script is missing. It should be: gtk-update-icon-cache -ftq /usr/share/icons/Numix gtk-update-icon-cache -ftq /usr/share/icons/Numix-Light I checked the adwaita-icon-theme package in extra. Its install script has the leading slash. This makes sense, because unlike during packaging, in post-install absolute paths should be used. And in fact, without the leading slash, it doesn't work (the icon cache isn't updated). numix-circle-icon-theme-git has the same problem.

Thanks, I found the --devel switch to pacman and added it to my AUR heper command (pacaur), now -git packages are updated with the rest of the system :-)

@neitsab: This is because this is a development package. You are expected to update -git packages yourself.
