`makepkg` just pulls new updates from git after the initial clone.

madwifi commented on 2016-06-14 17:31

Isn't it better to download the master zip instead of cloning the whole repository? There is around 2K commits for that repository which is not used after download.

the same can be downloaded from https://github.com/numixproject/numix-icon-theme/archive/master.zip

or, just using shallow clone (with --depth=1)of the same will do the trick

install file removed, added the dep in the common package, cheers.

I think gtk-update-icon-cache can be dropped from all the numix-*-git as we have now the libalpm/gtk-update-icon-cache.hook. A dependency on gtk-update-icon-cache is then needed tough.

alucryd commented on 2015-11-12 08:16

No, the original way was without the leading slash, the leading slash started being accepted not so long ago. Anyway, both work, there is no problem.

Hexcles commented on 2015-11-12 00:39

It seems to me the leading slash of the path in the post-install script is missing. It should be:

gtk-update-icon-cache -ftq /usr/share/icons/Numix
gtk-update-icon-cache -ftq /usr/share/icons/Numix-Light

I checked the adwaita-icon-theme package in extra. Its install script has the leading slash. This makes sense, because unlike during packaging, in post-install absolute paths should be used. And in fact, without the leading slash, it doesn't work (the icon cache isn't updated).

numix-circle-icon-theme-git has the same problem.

Thanks, I found the --devel switch to pacman and added it to my AUR heper command (pacaur), now -git packages are updated with the rest of the system :-)

auscompgeek commented on 2015-09-23 09:22

@neitsab: This is because this is a development package. You are expected to update -git packages yourself.

neitsab commented on 2015-08-23 12:48

This package fails to auto-update: I had to manually reinstall it for it to pick the latest git rev.

I think the gnome-icon-theme could be replaced with adwaita-icon-theme as a dependency since gnome deprecated it in 3.14. It is not even needed and installs unneeded irrelevant packages. Working fine for me with no issues with my local PKGBUILD that I edited. :)

I think the gnome-icon-theme dependency could be removed. It only brings in deprecated irrelevant packages since gnome adopted the adwaita icon theme set now.

The package is actually made pretty good, that it doesnt care about the version and just gits the latest files, that way it wont become one of those dead packages, that no one updates, or updates once a year.

startas commented on 2014-06-29 17:39

Well, just uninstall the package and install it again. You can check github itsef if there are any changes.

Knalltuete commented on 2014-04-13 10:34

The version number of the package doesn't raise anymore. So it's not possible to get updates, if there are changes on GIT.

The regular numix icon theme has been superseded by numix-shine. As I understand it, numix-icon-theme is still a base icon pack which numix-circle requires atm.
