For the beginners in need of assistance, first take a look at this recommended guide https://github.com/korvahannu/arch-nvidia-drivers-installation-guide - maybe it helps to solve the issues your are having with this version of the driver.

For myself, I was just getting really sick of this with 470 and a ex GT 730 2GB GDDR5 variant of mine. lol I decided to upgrade to AMDGPU RX-550 4GB GDDR5 and I'm very happy, alot easier, instead of the NVIDIA BS, I constantly dealt with, with that unsupported Card and Driver.

I installed a GKxxx card that started to run on a nouveau driver, but I immediately installed this package. Resuming from hibernation stopped working, and since that is a priority over the card I removed the card and uninstalled all the packages that were generated along this one by makepkg. Resuming from hibernation did not came back to work; the only change to the system after the last successful resume from hibernation were the installation of the card and the installation of this package with makepkg that installed those others that were also removed.

Free software packaging usually do not make messes like this one. The uni[n]stallation of those packages should revert the changes made that affected the rest of the system.

I identified residual user and group "nvidia-persistenced" and removed them. No effect.

I reinstalled all linux-lts packages I'm running on. No effect.

What should I do to avoid reinstalling the whole system <strike>and giving reason to infamous Torvald's nVidia f-bomb</strike>? Any other packages that should be reinstalled in order that resuming from hibernation comes back to work?

'journalctl -xb' states:

.... PM: Image successfully loaded
.... PM: hibernation: Failed to load image, recovering.
.... PM: hibernation: Basic memory bitmaps freed
.... PM: hibernation: resume failed (-16)

― and no success in resuming from hibernation.

Kernel 6.18.1-arch1-2 working properly with 470.256.02-8.00 on GTX770 (GK104/Kepler).

Has anyone tested whether the recent introduction of the linux-firmware-nvidia package affects installation when using 6.17.1?

Same here. Upgraded to 6.17.1-arch1-1 without issues. Nvidia Geforce GTX 760. Thank you

Thanks for maintaining this package. I've just upgraded to kernel 6.17.1-arch1-1 and the build run without trouble.

Big thank you for the update! Can confirm that there are no problems with the GTX660M.

@Maniaxx: Indeed, thank you for spotting this !

I have updated the package to version 8.00.

Again, thank you all for testing and for the feedback!

As usual, big "thank you" to Joan Bruguera who works his magic and extends the life of this driver beyond its natural limits !

The nvidia-470xx-fix-linux-6.15.patch has been updated as well. I think you've missed that.
