I dunno, that's weird. Is your DM working otherwise with the stock 'nvidia'? Try 'single' on kernel commandline to get to the console: https://askubuntu.com/questions/132965/how-do-i-boot-into-single-user-mode-from-grub

Det...please.....may you help me , why after install nvidia-beta drivers when I restart my system i get a black screen problem, i dont have any xorg.conf file because i've made a file inside the xorg.conf.d as you can see here https://ptpb.pw/6GwM my card is a GTX 650TI , so i guess this is the correct driver,Apparently its okay accordding to the this Xorg log : https://ptpb.pw/vFW0 but i cant see anything in my Screen

That's effectively the same thing?

Using a GTX 980, I can't get X started with this. Here's what my Xorg log looked like with a xconfig-generated xorg.conf in place: https://ptpb.pw/1D-w Here's what it looked like without it: https://ptpb.pw/XopA Nvidia appears to be loaded: https://ptpb.pw/JMM_ Any ideas? Does [testing] need to be enabled?

I'm unable to install this package because of some missing dependencies: $ yaourt -S nvidia-beta ... warning: opencl-nvidia-beta-378.13-1 is up to date -- reinstalling resolving dependencies... warning: cannot resolve "xorg-server>=1.19.1-3", a dependency of "nvidia-utils-beta" warning: cannot resolve "nvidia-utils-beta", a dependency of "nvidia-egl-wayland-beta" warning: cannot resolve "xorg-server>=1.19.1-3", a dependency of "nvidia-utils-beta" warning: cannot resolve "nvidia-utils-beta", a dependency of "nvidia-libgl-beta" warning: cannot resolve "xorg-server>=1.19.1-3", a dependency of "nvidia-utils-beta" :: The following packages cannot be upgraded due to unresolvable dependencies: nvidia-egl-wayland-beta nvidia-libgl-beta nvidia-utils-beta Any idea what could be wrong? Edit: Ah! I need to enable testing repos! ;o)

Omg. How long did I spend because of that misleading comment... These are *NOT* dependencies. They are, quote, "support for new window systems, ***beyond the existing*** libnvidia-egl-wayland.so.1" (https://devtalk.nvidia.com/default/topic/988593/unix-graphics-announcements-and-news/linux-solaris-and-freebsd-driver-378-09-beta-/). Goddamn.

378.09 is out and libnvidia-egl-wayland.so is no longer part of the driver so the install part will fail, when simply bumping the version number. The EGL Wayland driver and EGL Platform Library is now its own project that has to be packaged from these sources and added as dependency. - https://github.com/NVIDIA/eglexternalplatform - https://github.com/NVIDIA/egl-wayland
