For git packages, it's customary to use the version corresponding to the latest release at the time of update. This is a natural consequences of running a test build, which is general good practice. Since the package was created and last updated years ago, there could have been breaking changes.
In case you'd like a reference for version numbering, VCS package guidelines state, "If tag contains a prefix, like v or project name then it should be cut off..."
Thanks for updating.

I actually did update .SRCINFO, there just wasn't any change, I just didn't want to push an actual package update over what is essentially a typo and put additional load on the AUR. I was just told that was best practice, but I didn't know if I did it right since .SRCINFO didn't change. I just updated the version anyway to clear all that up. Thanks for the help, I at least didn't know, or notice, that the pkgver shouldn't contain any other jazz.

I updated the pkgver to remove the v. Hopefully that is up to standards, I've slept since I last messed with any AUR packages.
