Please change the wxpython depends to wxpython2.8 (as commented 1.5 years ago).

FYI: I ported obapps to Python3 and wxPython4 and named it obapps3. My obapps3 AUR-package. obapps3 on github

noMaster commented on 2020-01-21 00:43 (UTC)

Use wxpython2.8 instead wxpython.

SanskritFritz commented on 2019-08-26 08:28 (UTC)

I disowned this package as I don't use Openbox at the moment.

You should comment this line in PKGBUILD and rebuild.

patch < ${srcdir}/obapps-python2.patch

There is temporary solution

Hi, everytime I start obapps I get raceback (most recent call last): File "/usr/bin/obapps", line 33, in <module> wxversion.select('2.8') File "/usr/lib/python2.7/site-packages/wxversion.py", line 152, in select raise VersionError("Requested version of wxPython not found") wxversion.VersionError: Requested version of wxPython not found

wxpython and wxpython2.8 are installed, but it looks trange das it is searching in python2.7?

SanskritFritz commented on 2018-04-29 18:54 (UTC)

It works with wxpython again.

I fixed the compiling issue with wxpython2.8 installing wxgtk2 from the AUR, you should add it to the dependencies

dFVarela commented on 2018-03-15 21:26 (UTC)

Unable to build: ==> ERROR: Makepkg was unable to build wxpython2.8.

Reventlov you're right. Thank you, I applied your changes. Nice catch!

It works for you because you have stuff configured inside your obapps. Try to move your rc.xml to rc.xml.bak, delete everything you got inside your obapps application then restart obapps. You'll get the same error than cmorgenstern. ps: in my tarball I forgot wxpython2.8 in the dependencies, correct that if you use it.

I propose a new package for that which depends explicitely on extra/wxpython2.8. Obapps works here well with wxpython 3.0.2.0-1

commented on 2015-01-02 10:32 (UTC)

I added a patch to correct those errors. Tarball containing the modified PKGBUILD and the patch here: http://a.pomf.se/fsesvs.tar.gz

Thanks for the fix, for any future travellers , replace teh python-xlib dep with python2-xlib.

mladoux commented on 2013-06-22 00:22 (UTC)

here's an updated PKGBUILD. Just replace the one in the download with this. Also, feel free to compare with the existing PKGBUILD if you want to be safe. http://pastebin.com/uXB7Eyp8 All I did was update the dependencies.

semeion commented on 2013-06-11 19:44 (UTC)

I have changed "python-xlib" to "python2-xlib" or will show an error on execute.

semeion commented on 2013-06-06 07:12 (UTC)
