There is also a stable version now: https://aur4.archlinux.org/packages/obs-build/ although it is fairly outdated (>300 commits since the last stable release more than a year ago)

I can successfully build packages for openSUSE with this in a chroot. Make sure your build-root is not mounted with "nodev" and you use rpm-org, rather than rpm5 from package "rpm".
