The PKGBUILD for this package is hosted here (contributions are welcome!): https://gitlab.com/dpeukert/pkgbuilds/tree/main/ocaml-utop

The compiler libraries are now available in the "ocaml-compiler-libs" package in [extra] :)

Updated to rely on my variant of the 'ocaml' package that provides the compiler libraries. It should now be possible to simply use e.g. yaourt to install 'ocaml-utop' without having to manually add the compiler libraries to your existing 'ocaml' installation. When the compiler libraries are integrated into the standard 'ocaml' package in [extra] then I will adjust the dependency back to that package. I think this is the best way to provide support to users at this point, but comments are always welcome! Thanks for using.

Ok, good to hear! This kind of request is supposed to go to the bug tracker [1] for future reference. I've just filled a request [2] with a PKGBUILD heavily inspired by yours (I've just split it into build() and package()), thank you! And by the way, don't forget to vote for your own packages, a 0-vote package isn't really appealing ;) [1] https://bugs.archlinux.org [2] https://bugs.archlinux.org/task/25763

zorun: Yes, sorry I didn't leave a comment. I asked the ocaml package maintainer earlier this week if he'd be interested in including the compiler libs in the ocaml package, I think that would be a much better route than having a separate package. I haven't heard back yet. In the mean time, you might try the modified ocaml package I've been using at [1] - I debated submitting this package (perhaps as ocaml-with-complib or something like that) to the AUR as an alternative for ocaml, but decided against it to avoid confusion. Looks like this is missing a dependency: `ocaml-compiler-libs` [1] However, this package is fairly out-of-date, broken, and even if it wasn't, it is kind of an overkill dependency (it basically involves building the whole OCaml compiler) Besides, it could easily be bundled in the `ocaml` package in extra. I'll try and update [1], but if it proves too difficult and/or too long to build, we're left with asking for integration within the `ocaml` package. @metasyntax: were you aware of the issue? (I guess so). A comment about it would have been much appreciated. [1] https://aur.archlinux.org/packages.php?ID=12333
