@eworm how was the tech preview failing for you? I tried it and after the mfa I always get "Only one version can run at a time. Please close the other version before launching this one." Because the redirect from the browser seems to open another instance, which seems to be fine for the regular client.
Also: I am fairly new to arch linux, but is there no single step operation to install the optional dependency? I cloned the git repo and and installed it by hand.

Yes, opensc is installed and I can read/see/export the smartcard cert with p11tool but the client shows the message about "Access denied. No valid certificate provided."

There's an optional dependency
opensc, required for smartcard support. You have that installed?eworm commented on 2026-02-23 13:08 (UTC)
Just added a split package
omnissa-horizon-client-nextto provide the tech preview...eworm commented on 2026-02-23 12:35 (UTC)
The
horizon-client-nextclient is marked as tech preview, not ready for production use. It failed for me, so I decided not to ship it and instead save the space.You could modify the
PKGBUILDto have it included...Envek commented on 2026-02-23 12:12 (UTC)
horizon-client-next for some reason is being explicitly removed in the PKGBUILD since 2512-2: https://aur.archlinux.org/cgit/aur.git/tree/PKGBUILD?h=omnissa-horizon-client#n41

Is the horizon-client-next in this package? It says hear that it should be in the latest release. https://github.com/joshii-h/fix-omnissa-horizon-graphic-bugs-wayland

I also had to set this environment variable to force a light theme. Only on a X11 session I am able to use the client. It crashes immediately after I connect with wayland. (KDE Manjaro)
Edit: Now works after the latest update on Manjaro with wayland (libx11 got updated)

Update on this: libx11-mr293 is no longer required, and as such has been removed from the AUR since the fix has been included in the most up-to-date version of libx11.
One other problem is that on CachyOS text was green on white with the default theme, so I needed this to enable me to read anything within the GUI.
The following environment variable made text readable for me:
GTK_THEME=Adwaita:light
This is not an issue on the "Next" client but it's not included in this package.
