Seems that SBCL 1.2.14 broke compatibility, http://lispblog.xach.com/post/126017123533/updated-package-locking-behavior-with-sbcl-1214 Fails to build due to "package locking." Changed the PKGBUILD to use clisp and it built, but now when I run it axiom just hangs and won't let me enter any terminal input... I gave up and just installed the axiom docker.

The authors are excessively using -static for some reason and this caused problems with newer glibc. It is fixed by sed-patching the configure for now.

There also is FriCAS (the other Axiom-fork): https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/fricas/ I could build FriCAS without problems.

Thanks,gmaslov . i added "options=(!strip)" , and it finally succeeded on my x86 arch.
