@capoeira you have to install openbazaard package, this package provides only the frontend written in nodejs.openbazaard(or openbazaard-git or openbazaard-standalone-git) provides the server daemon.

/var/lib/openbazaard/ /home/$USER/.openbazaard both paths don't exist

you could run the server as systemd service or auto-loaded by the gui. In the first case server process it's owned by openbazaard user In the second owned by your user two paths: /var/lib/openbazaard/ /home/$USER/.openbazaard You have to configure /var/lib/openbazaard/ob.cfg. change user and password parameters and let me know

so how do I make the server run? It always says "Unable to connect to your server"....and the icon indicates the server is not running
