@thrasibule if this package is built with different flags then it's a duplicated package.

https://wiki.archlinux.org/title/AUR_submission_guidelines#Rules_of_submission

Does this build add something new and additional to the openblas package? If not I'll proceed with the package deletion

blas-openblas has replaces=('openblas-lapack'), as per FS#78781.

@muflone, it's not the same. It's built with different flags (DYNAMIC_ARCH=0 and USE_TLS=1).

@thrasibule isn't this package a duplicate of https://gitlab.archlinux.org/archlinux/packaging/packages/openblas/-/blob/main/PKGBUILD?ref_type=heads ?

If so I'll proceed with deleting this package

Hm, okay, right. Then you don't need to add a new conflicts entry. Thanks for checking.

thrasibule commented on 2023-06-15 14:03 (UTC)

blas-openblas and openblas-lapack already conflict (through blas). I don't think you can have both installed at the same time. Is there something that's broken right now?

@thrasibule, as a quick interim measure, please kindly add provides=(blas-openblas=$pkgver) and conflicts=(blas-openblas).

The conflicts is an obvious formality and necessity now.

The provides would help users' migration in case they have one or more AUR packages still depending on this one while others already switched their depends to the repo variant.

@carlosal1015, the new Arch change you mention means there is a new blas-openblas package, which is essentially the same as this.

So this AUR package should be deleted and users should install the repo package if they want to use the OpenBLAS implementation of blas, cblas, lapack, lapacke.

Hi @thrasibule, this change implies reinstall openblas-lapack if I want use this blas implementation by default?

Thank you.

What's your cpu? I can reproduce with an old xeon, but all my other machines pass the test fine.
