Please note. This PKGBUILD is now up-to-date, but it's not working.

See this upstream issue: https://github.com/Try/OpenGothic/issues/704

https://pastebin.com/1hwpBuPY

Are there any fixes for that?

Edit: Anyone else having problems with this build on Arch, just go to the Github Page and do the first time build instructions. Don't forget to install the required libraries before doing so.

Edit 2: The Gothic2Notr.sh can be found in the build/opengothic folder after building the source SUCCESSFULLY. You need to use it this way: Gothic2Notr.sh -g <PATH-TO-YOUR-GOTHIC-2-FILES>

For the GOG version you also need innoextract, if you don't want to use wine. Just extract the installation files and use the folder as path.

Gothic2Notr -g .local/share/Steam/steamapps/common/Gothic\ II/

works, but I get like 20 fps and going into graphics settings crashes it

I've gotten this installed, I think - how to actually use it? There are no icons. The github page says to launch "Gothic2Notr.sh," but I find no such file on my system.

The crash when saving the game is now fixed upstream. And the PKGBUILD is updated to include this fix

CReimer commented on 2023-01-22 16:32 (UTC)

Switched over to OpenGothic's other versioning scheme. Newest version is now 1.0.1878

The game is no longer segfaulting right away. But it's still segfaulting when I try to save the game. Not sure what's going on there, but this time I'm quite sure it's not my fault.

0.64 is out. Unfortunately it's immediately segfaulting. I'm not sure if it's my fault or what is going on. I'll take a closer look when I have time. Maybe one of you can figure it out in the meantime. Any help is much apreciated.

Where are you getting "0.63" from? There was never a 0.63 version released as near as I can tell. The current version as of 10/24/22 is 1.0.1705.

I tried installing anyhow, but hit the following pretty quickly:

=> Validating source files with sha512sums...
 OpenGothic ... Skipped
 Tempest ... Skipped
 TinySoundFont ... Skipped
 ZenLib ... Skipped
 bullet_dynamic.diff ... Passed
 zenlib_dynamic_physfs.diff ... FAILED
==> ERROR: One or more files did not pass the validity check!
 -> error downloading sources: opengothic
     context: exit status 1

OK 0.63 is out. Now hopefully without any conflicting physfs or bullet files

Sorry guys. It took me way too long. I know.

And it will take a bit longer until I get some information from the upstream developers.
