I have created a new user, not working as well ...

If it did work with fresh Install, there is a high possibility the profile became corrupted.

Exact Manjaro too !
It was working on fresh installation but not on existing one. I reset java according to ArchWiki documentation but no luck...

I would rate OpenOffice as the follows
Pro
contra
depends on your values, And I would see it currently as trait.
Since I am part of the development AOO community. In general LibreOffice is a good Application. If you are satisfied with LO there is no reason to change. Have Fun! Peter

Avantage to choose OO in favor of Libreoffice in 2020 ?

Here is the pkgbuild to install 4.1.7

@danisantos It may be fixed with 4.1.7. I am not 100% sure. The issue is that java structure change causes OpenOffice not to find the versions. The code in OpenOffice needs some love.
@kingcreole what exactly do you try to start? OpenOffice writer? or something else? All these are OpenOffice libraries. They should be fine. Did you have an old version installed? maybe resetting the profile does help.
@oberon2007 Are you working on a 4.1.7 package? Do you use the community (official) build or do you build one especially for Arch? I would like to produce a build version for Arch. Not sure since some dependencies are old on OpenOffice. The Gstreamer dependency should be on V1.x.x. I think it has been updated in 4.1.4 or 4.1.5
