eNTi , it was tried.
Check the first half of https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=152606 .

When artoo started his apcakges, he didn't notice apg had already created packages.
In the course of that thread it became clear that artoo looked at things from gentoo user POV, while apg (an arch dev) looked at things from archuser pov.
there were differences in the setup that prevented the scripts provided by each from being used in the other implementation.

basically both disagree about how things should be done, and with the recent changes in artoo openrc for that arch derivative Manjaro, the gap widened again.

there's quite some init scripts missing... is there no possibility for artoo and apg to work on this together? i'd help too if anyone cares?

Please add git in makedepends or you can't compile it in clean chroot (extra-x86_64-build)

If apg wants, I would maintain openrc by switching my packages over to openrc naming. Apq would just have to delete his builds.
Its just an offer if agq has no time to maintain it.

Scripts are really outdated, openrc apg version needs a different upstream or serious patching or something. No disrespect, I love and use your work apg.

@x33a,

Thanks, I only saw it today because I had forgotten to activate notifications for this package.

Thanks again,

Mektub

@ Mektub,

they have been fixed.

In the PKGBUILD, there is

make SBINDIR=/usr/bin

and here's the commit that fixed the services.

Shouldn't these services be edited so as to acknowledge the /sbin, /usr/sbin move to /usr/bin ?

Thank you. Any idea how I could get a ModemManager runscript? It has become necessary as it's not started by dbus anymore.

@ gothmog123, you can find all the forks here:

@proxypoke

Where can one get this fork? I need service files for tor, and modemmanager as well.

Ahoy again,

I've spent some time just now to integrate most of the other forks of the main repository, fixing some minor issues along the way. This led to the addition of several more services - and I'm still not done.

You can simply sed in my repository into the PKGBUILD with ``sed -i "s#/andrewgregory/#/proxypoke/#" PKGBUILD''. Let me know if there's any issues.

@apg: If you don't have the time or motivation to continue maintaining this PKGBUILD, could you orphan it? I would happily take over.

proxypoke commented on 2013-01-11 14:35

Ahoy,

I forked and added dmcrypt and Tor service files. I've send a pull request, too.

Lone_Wolf commented on 2012-12-31 00:36

Apg, i've forked your openrc-arch-services repo.
I added several service files (with some help from patroclo7 and artoo) and did a pull request.
please check the pull request by LW-archlinux .

Ahoy,

you might want to add a makedepends=('git'). Ran into that on a fresh system with no git installed.

Cheers.
