@ifernando: If you are not using an AUR helper that will take care of installing the required/missing dependencies, you have to do it yourself. python-setuptools and python-grpcio-tools are both available in the official Arch repository

I am obtaining this missing dependencies error:

makepkg -s
==> Making package: opensnitch-git 1.6.0rc2.r21.564c263-1 (Sat Oct  8 20:19:30 2022)
==> Checking runtime dependencies...
==> Checking buildtime dependencies...
==> Installing missing dependencies...
error: target not found: python-grpcio-tools
==> ERROR: 'pacman' failed to install missing dependencies.
==> Missing dependencies:
  -> python-setuptools
  -> python-grpcio-tools
==> ERROR: Could not resolve all dependencies.

Do you have a solution for it?

Thank you

@afader I had the same problem. Solved it by reinstalling base-devel and copy-ing makepkg.conf.pacnew to makepkg.conf.

@afader

Please do not flag this package out of date if you're getting a build error (especially one I cannot even reproduce when building in a chroot).

This is a -git package – mere version bumps are not required for packages like this if nothing else (dependencies, for example) changes. Some AUR helpers (like paru for example) can optionally automatically update such packages as well when the upstream repo has changes; otherwise you'll just have to manually update them yourself (with paru -S opensnitch-git, for example). This will then build from the most recent upstream sources.
