@Living Sorry, I don't know exactly how to do that. I guess one needs to run an own bitcoin node.
I am using my own fork (from this PR) where one can disable that check and you can verify the hash manually by looking it up in any bitcoin chain explorer.

When I try to verify a Git commit signed with GPG+OTS I get this error message from the
ots-git-gpg-wrapper.sh
:I have no bitcoin software installed and no folder
~/.bitcoin

Please kindly add
conflicts=('opentimestamps-client')
as well.This is in accordance with VCS package guidelines, even in case there is no non-git package in existence.
