Thanks for the hint, Ruari! The package is updated. I did not know opera reads its own lib directory. But as it tries to load the ffmpeg library version shipped by Arch Linux we can remove this completly for now. ;)

The dependencies of Opera developer have recently changed. We no longer directly depend on libudev, so you can update the PKGBUILD somewhat. $ wget -q http://get.geo.opera.com/pub/opera-developer/28.0.1738.0/linux/opera-developer_28.0.1738.0_amd64.deb $ mkdir opera-developer_28.0.1738.0_amd64 $ ar p opera-developer_28.0.1738.0_amd64.deb data.tar.xz | tar xJ -C opera-developer_28.0.1738.0_amd64 $ find opera-developer_28.0.1738.0_amd64 -type f -executable -exec objdump -p {} \; | grep NEEDED | sort -u NEEDED ld-linux-x86-64.so.2 NEEDED libasound.so.2 NEEDED libcairo.so.2 NEEDED libc.so.6 NEEDED libcups.so.2 NEEDED libcurl.so.4 NEEDED libdbus-1.so.3 NEEDED libdl.so.2 NEEDED libexpat.so.1 NEEDED libfontconfig.so.1 NEEDED libfreetype.so.6 NEEDED libgconf-2.so.4 NEEDED libgdk_pixbuf-2.0.so.0 NEEDED libgdk-x11-2.0.so.0 NEEDED libgio-2.0.so.0 NEEDED libglib-2.0.so.0 NEEDED libgobject-2.0.so.0 NEEDED libgtk-x11-2.0.so.0 NEEDED libm.so.6 NEEDED libnspr4.so NEEDED libnss3.so NEEDED libnssutil3.so NEEDED libpango-1.0.so.0 NEEDED libpangocairo-1.0.so.0 NEEDED libplc4.so NEEDED libpthread.so.0 NEEDED librt.so.1 NEEDED libsmime3.so NEEDED libstdc++.so.6 NEEDED libX11.so.6 NEEDED libXcomposite.so.1 NEEDED libXcursor.so.1 NEEDED libXdamage.so.1 NEEDED libXext.so.6 NEEDED libXfixes.so.3 NEEDED libXi.so.6 NEEDED libXrandr.so.2 NEEDED libXrender.so.1 NEEDED libXss.so.1 NEEDED libXtst.so.6 I would also avoid binary patching Opera if at all possible as it can lead to problems. Where naming of libs is an issue, it is needed it is safer to make a lib/ sub-directory underneath the main Opera directory and add compatiblity symlinks.

@adonisk: Sync is not enabled in stable yet.

adonisk commented on 2014-12-17 21:23 (UTC)

Opera stable seem to have broken sync...

eworm commented on 2014-12-05 15:32 (UTC)

Opera stable is in [community] already... ;) So just install with pacman.

I find this website also provide opera download: http://deb.opera.com/opera-developer/pool/non-free/o/opera-developer/ This site is faster in mainland China.

for system ffmpeg support just add: # add compat symlinks for ffpmeg ln -sf "/usr/lib/libavcodec.so" "$pkgdir/usr/lib/libavcodec-ffmpeg.so.55" ln -sf "/usr/lib/libavformat.so" "$pkgdir/usr/lib/libavformat-ffmpeg.so.55" ln -sf "/usr/lib/libavutil.so" "$pkgdir/usr/lib/libavutil-ffmpeg.so.52" to the PKGBUILD the only downside is you need to check the sonames in the binary every time
