@zedspeirs As I mentioned before I had some difficulties that was not able to keep package up to date. I still use and update this package on my local build. So I have enough insight to how it works and am still interested in maintaining it.

@MojArch I do not believe transferring the maintainer role is justified at this time, as the package is actively and consistently maintained.

I closely track Opera GX upstream releases and keep the package updated on a regular basis, ensuring users receive timely updates and a stable experience.

That said, I would be open to offering a co-maintainer position if you'd like to contribute. However, as I previously mentioned to others, the current maintenance workload is fully manageable for me alone, and I intend to continue maintaining the package actively.

@zedspeirs I would like to get back in maintaining this pkg!

Hmmm! What happened here! I had some difficulties and couldn't update package.

@zedpeirs that sounds fine. its your decision and if its easy enough to keep up with on your own, I don't have to be a co-maintainer but it kinda just pisses me off that they stole the package I was maintaining, but its not too big of a deal if u add me as a co-maintainer or not.

@zedspeirs thanks a lot, it works like a charm now! :)

@ghxst.me If you're up for it and have the time, I can add you as a co-maintainer. I’ve got a script handling most of it, and with weekly Thursday releases, it’s pretty easy to keep up.

@VIRGO77 Package already fixed, need to upgrade the ffmpeg codec to the latest version.

VIRGO77 commented on 2026-04-16 16:03 (UTC)

Hi!

This new version 130.0.5847.58 is not launching anymore on my CachyOS system :(

So I had to switch back to the 129.0.5823.64 version, which works with the old FFmpeg package :D

Hope a new release will fix this issue ;)

Regards, V.

Could you allow me to be a maintainer as well? I had maintained this PKG originally, but someone submitted an orphan and deletion request despite it being the correct naming convention + more uptodate than both bin and stable. only thing i hadn't done that one of them is add codecs which isn't very necessary. I can keep it up to date if you don't already have a autoupdater(webhook or similar). I don't necessarily need to be one but it would be appreciated.
