Well done, good solution to download a specific revision and nice you thought about epoch.

About the other fonts: I'll look at them the next few weeks.

P.S. I've added you as a co-maintainer to all my font packages just in case you notice something else. :-)

Morn commented on 2015-06-21 10:57

Done.

I'm here again. ;) The URL isn't valid, should be https://aldusleaf.org/crimson.html

If a package downloads the latest Git resources, like this one does, it should be suffixed with -git. It should also contain a pkgver function (see the Wiki for details).

The source files have been changed, please check your $srcdir to see where they reside nowadays. Next time you upload a package that hasn't had much attention lately, please check if it builds correctly before committing.

The call to fc-cache should be with flag -s nowadays.

You should add a maintainer line with your name and (obfuscated) email address.

If you make these changes, please upload them as a new package (named 'otf-crimson-git' (the "text" part has been dropped)) and file a merge request.

I'm disowning this one as it is not working as intended and I'm busy at the moment. Feel free to adopt, cheers!

The directory structure in the git repo has changed.

I had to change the last install line to the following

install -m644 Desktop\ Fonts/OTF/*.otf "$pkgdir/usr/share/fonts/OTF/"

Since the author has no plans of releasing the otf fonts, I tried updating the package to install the otf fonts from the last tag on github, so this package does not automatically update like -git packages. I hope this is the correct way of doing it, cheers.

No problem. Your suggestion seems reasonable.

hilton commented on 2013-10-23 12:17

I thought I had answered you already! As you mentioned there is no official release for the otf font, despite the author updates to the font. I believe the best thing would be to make an otf-crimson-text-git with the latest font from github. While this one will be updated when/if the author make a new release for otf fonts.

Markus00000 commented on 2013-10-10 06:11

I flagged the package and hope this is correct. The author moved the fonts to GitHub (https://github.com/skosch/Crimson). Crimson-Roman.otf from SourceForge is 223K, from GitHub it's 249K. I couldn't find a version string.

Thanks for flagging, I missed the release.
Updated to 20111206.

@fauno
> great package :)

Indeed, nice font!

> only a little thing: you should add the license to it, i checked and it doesn't come with the fonts, so probably you should ask the author.

No way! *You* should ask the author. :D
Serious now, I think we don't need to be pedantic and bother asking the author since he himself didn't bother
with it so far.

You're, of course, free to do as you wish.

Cheers!
