@lightdot Valid take. I updated epoch to 2 now. Check the pinned comment for context. Again, I'm sorry for the inconvenience.
Look at the mess in the sources section. Every font has its own tag and release, and I just resorted to using the date.

There was no need to bump the epoch to "2", keeping it as "1" would do, but no harm done. There are enough numbers left :)

Updated epoch to 2. IBM Plex doesn't have a consistent release version scheme for now, and it's better to use the date of the latest release or tag. Sorry for the inconvenience.

You can't remove epoch please
lightdot commented on 2026-05-15 15:14 (UTC)
What do you mean, "epoch wasn't needed"?? It most certainly is needed in this case, you've just broken all automated AUR updates for this package by removing it.
Epoch can't simply be removed, once it's been put in place, not once user update procedures now depend on it.
Put it back.

I did some cleaning and removed the epoch since it wasn't needed, and it's not recommended to use it unless necessary. You can just ignore the message, or, preferably, clean the cache in ${HOME}/.cache/{paru/clone,yay}/otf-ibm-plex if you use an AUR helper. Then rebuild the package.

The epoch=1 removal in d518c85 causes the new 2026.02.12-2 to sort lower than the previously released 1:2026.02.12-1, so existing installs can't upgrade. Consider restoring epoch=1 and bumping to pkgrel=3, or bumping to epoch=2 and pkgrel=1.

ah, you're right. I cleaned cache and re-installed and it's working fine. thanks
