According to this post (https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/ttf-ibm-plex-mono-git/#comment-785358) on my very similar package to yours, you must remove the "depends" section to follow the font guildlines.

I've made some github gists with an updated PKGBUILD (+ a new pkgver() function / enabled source line for firewalled hosts) and a PKGBUILD diff file for current AUR PKGBUILD file:

I'm getting cannot stat '/buid/ttf-ibm-plex-git/src/type/fonts/Mono/desktop/pc/*.ttf': No such file or directory when trying to use it with aursync -c

Should now be fixed. There is the problem that the font is in the same repo as a node tool so the version is not neccesary a new version of the font.

pkgver() is missing from PKGBUILD.
