Note to all: the font has (once again) changed names. It is no longer called "Inter-UI"; it is now called just "Inter". Please update your configurations.

Added an otf-inter-ui (thanks @twilk) and bumped to the new 3.7 version.

When I build with aur sync -cu from aurutils LICENSE.txt fails the validity check on 3.7 again. When I makepkg -g manually it passes. Very weird...

madscience commented on 2019-04-08 10:25

I've verified the sha256sum, so I'm not sure why LICENSE.txt would be failing.

aorth commented on 2019-04-08 04:57

With 3.5-1 LICENSE.txt fails the validity check.

Would you consider adding an OTF variant package? OTF supports more font features than TTF. Here's a PKGBUILD for both:

# Maintainer: Chris Snell <chris.snell@gmail.com>
# Contributor: Timo Wilken <timo 21 wilken plus aur at gmail dot com>

pkgname=(ttf-inter-ui otf-inter-ui)
pkgver=3.3
pkgrel=1
pkgdesc="A font for highly legible text on computer screens"
url="https://rsms.me/inter/"
arch=(any)
license=(custom:"SIL Open Font License")
conflicts=('ttf-interface')

source=("Inter-$pkgver.zip::https://github.com/rsms/inter/releases/download/v$pkgver/Inter-$pkgver.zip")
sha256sums=('b8733799800cedbc5459944ce48fbb8bb0b8fa674a865cd7359bfbaa0038fb0c')

package_ttf-inter-ui() {
    install -d "$pkgdir/usr/share/fonts/${pkgname%-fonts}"
    install -t "$pkgdir/usr/share/fonts/${pkgname%-fonts}" -m644 "Inter (TTF hinted)/"*.ttf
    install -d "$pkgdir/usr/share/licenses/$pkgname"
    install -t "$pkgdir/usr/share/licenses/$pkgname" -m644 LICENSE.txt
}

package_otf-inter-ui() {
  install -d "$pkgdir/usr/share/fonts/${pkgname%-fonts}"
  install -t "$pkgdir/usr/share/fonts/${pkgname%-fonts}" -m644 "Inter (OTF)/"*.otf
  install -d "$pkgdir/usr/share/licenses/$pkgname"
  install -t "$pkgdir/usr/share/licenses/$pkgname" -m644 LICENSE.txt
}

Please note, the font name has changed to "Inter" and you may need to change configs accordingly

Fixed. Thanks @shaggytwodope

It seems in the latest version release a folder path has changed.

Inter UI (hinted TTF)/

is now

Inter UI (TTF hinted)/

Causing the package to no longer build.

@budkin: fixed.
