Excellent clarification @caleb, thanks. Unfortunately the main site of the developer www.impallari.com has been down for a long time, we only have https://github.com/impallari to see the progress.

@mytbk The 4.x font series has not been released yet, it is an ongoing development work and the repository is a mess. The latest full release of the font is still the 3.x series which can be installed with the ttf-raleway package. You can setup an alias on your system or user account if you'd rather use this, but this package shouldn't add such an alias because the upstream hasn't named it that yet and the only real way to compare versions is by having different names like this.

The sources site has been down for several months. Without success I tried to communicate with the designer of the typographical sources since the beginning of the year, unfortunately we still have no information on where to download the updates.

The installed font is named Raleway-v4020. We need a font name alias from Raleway to Raleway-v4020.

The Arch font packaging guidelines seem to be few and far between.

Most of the lmt-fonts packages have had both OTF and TTF variants included by the original packager, although the package name suggest only the latter. Perhaps they should have been named lmt-fonts-raleway, etc. in the first place... or broken up into two packages? I'm open to suggestions on how to handle this, I'd just prefer to have all League of Moveable Type font packages behave the same.

The 18 variant version of the Raleway available on the FontSquirrel seems to come from the fork made by Pablo Impallari. His version has already been packaged as otf-impallari-raleway-family and ttf-impallari-raleway-family in AUR. In any case, I'd prefer not to stray from the original upstream source, as I can't judge what are their reasons for not updating the font in their repo...

The Github project is 8 years out of date, there have been 18 variants in this family for ages. Until The League gets their act together on Github this should package some other release, for example the download from FontSquirrel.

Do you know where any Arch font packgaging guidelines talk about including both OTF & TTF forms in the same packgae or not? And also package naming guidelines. I'm wondering if either OTF should be dropped from this package or whether I should drop the OTF package entirely.

Fixed. However, I was the co-maintainer of this package, but have no interest in it. Please adopt if you want.

The link the package is trying to get raleway.zip from (http://theleagueofmoveabletype.com/raleway/download) seems to be down, it gives a 404.

The updated fonts do not include the ".ttf" files, but they contain the ".otf" files, so the new package with the updates of this font is this: https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/otf-impallari-raleway-family/
