I just tried the approach with wine stable (it is available prebuilt in the ChaoticAUR repo) and indeed, OTRVerwaltung3p is working just fine again when the VirtualDub is launched. I will leave a comment in the linked threads and note that VirtualDub is negatively affected by this change as well.
IMO the ideal way would be to get rid of VirtualDub completely and make use of SmartMKVMerge for the new format as well, but that seems to be difficult for some reason.

I'm also not happy with the situation. Also Wine stable will also sooner or later be built with WOW64, so a more permanent solution would be nice. It is already discussed in multiple places https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=306356 https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?id=306278 So it unfortunately looks like a desired behavior only supporting WOW64 today, although it does not work for all applications. I was not able to find a working VirtualDub 64-bit version with plugins as most of that is pretty old and unmaintained code.

Ahh thanks for the explanation, makes sense.
To me it seem that the downgrade is only a (temporary) workaround but not a real solution. Is there any chance to get VirtualDub to work in wow64 mode, including the plugins? is this a bug of wine, maybe worth reporting upstream?

@MajorMayer: This is due to the recent Wine 10.9 update breaking 32-bit compatibility. https://archlinux.org/news/transition-to-the-new-wow64-wine-and-wine-staging/ Downgrading to Wine 10.8 or switching to wine-stable (AUR) solves the problem.
You could remove the ~/.local/share/otrverwaltung3p/intern-VirtualDub/wine directory which will then allow VirtualDub to start again, but VirtualDub in Wow64 mode will not load the plugins it seems and the process will still fail.

For some reason, this doesn't work for me anymore.
OTRVerwaltung simply skips the cutting whenever the vdub method is configured to be used. The vdub Wine terminal doesn't get launched but the console also doesn't show anything special, except for the 64 bit notice:
Is the 32-bit installation really the problem or could it be something else? Any idea how to fix this issue?
