Please add to PKGBUILD:

provides=('ov')

so that all packages that provide ov will conflict with ov-bin without explicitly mentioning it.

@focusaurus: I'm using yay here and it works just fine. Consider maybe fetching more logs around the issue and feel free to check the PKGBUILD yourself, nothing fancy is being done for this package.
