@lyra,
please try to build in a clean chroot.

@physkets same problem... Don't know what to do...

physkets commented on 2022-01-30 07:59 (UTC)

After a recent update of mesa from 21.3.4 to 21.3.5, I now see an error message:

Failed to make OpenGL context current. Cannot query OpenGL information.

Anyone know why? Or how to fix this?

It needs some packages from the meta package vulkan-devel; not sure which ones exactly. If you know which ones, could you please add them as dependences or make-deps?

physkets commented on 2021-12-31 08:43 (UTC)

Cmake is unable to find Vulkan:

CMake Error at /usr/share/cmake/Modules/FindPackageHandleStandardArgs.cmake:230 (message):
Could NOT find Vulkan (missing: Vulkan_INCLUDE_DIR)
Call Stack (most recent call first):
  /usr/share/cmake/Modules/FindPackageHandleStandardArgs.cmake:594 (_FPHSA_FAILURE_MESSAGE)
  /usr/share/cmake/Modules/FindVulkan.cmake:129 (find_package_handle_standard_args)
  src/ovito/vulkan/CMakeLists.txt:24 (FIND_PACKAGE)

Is there some missing dependency?

@a.kudelin , I've recompiled the software (using the latest PKGBUILD) but the problem unfortunately persists (both in my laptop and desktop). The symbols are missing for several libraries, and not only the one I've listed. After clicking "Ok" in several dialogs, Ovito finally opens, but cannot open any structures.

I'm in Manjaro Gnome.. maybe the script is missing some KDE library?

EDIT: I tested a previous version (3.1.1-1) and it's working. I think I'll stick to this version while the newer ones does not work.

@hmcezar, I tried to figure out where _ZN5Ovito6StdObj14PropertyAccessIiLb0EED1Ev is settled to, but it's neither in CorrelationFunctionPlugin.so, nor in Mesh.so. Could you please recompile the program in a clean environment?

hmcezar commented on 2020-10-20 17:12 (UTC)

The package successfully installs, but I get several "Failed to load native plugin library." when I open Ovito (and the software starts, but nothing works):

ERROR: Failed to load native plugin library. Library file: /usr/lib/ovito/plugins/CorrelationFunctionPlugin.so Error: Cannot load library /usr/lib/ovito/plugins/CorrelationFunctionPlugin.so: (/usr/lib/ovito/plugins/Mesh.so: undefined symbol: _ZN5Ovito6StdObj14PropertyAccessIiLb0EED1Ev)

Any ideas on how to solve this?

@Brocellous This package puts qt.conf in /bin, which breaks many other programs using Qt, giving the error you stated.
