when you do not need translations, i strongly recommend pacui instead of pacli: https://github.com/excalibur1234/pacui

pacui offers more and improved options, better support of pacaur as aurhelper, proper support for arch linux, and many more checks and error fixes.
pacui contains about 400+ additional commits and is still actively developed and maintained, whereas pacli has not made simple improvements for over a year.

bmenu works with both pacli and pacui.

Thanks daelvn, Chrystomus. Just updated the .SRCINFO's pkgver to 0.9.1.

Having trouble with ssh because of multiple reinstallations, and therefore cannot update the .SRCINFO. I'll disown the package so someone else can fix it if they want.

The PKGBUILD and .SRCINFO's pkgver is mismatching, in PKGBUILD it's 0.9.1 but in .SRCINFO it's 0.8, so pacaur fails to install the package.

/etc/pacman.d/hooks/pacli-description.sh is a symlink that points to the build area, not the installed package area, with this pkgbuild.

For example,

$ ls -l /etc/pacman.d/hooks/pacli-description.sh
lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 66 Feb 13 12:19 /etc/pacman.d/hooks/pacli-description.sh -> /home/andy/Code/pacli/pkg/pacli/usr/lib/pacli/pacli-description.sh

I do not know the origins of the name. I'll ask the author and other project members if they are interested in renaming the project.

Why on earth did the author name this "paCLI",

when he should have named it "pacMENU" ?

Very counter-productive indeed! I still give this pacMENU a vote ;-)

or maybe PACMANu or sth. ;-)

with only 2 votes it's still time to rechristen the pkg. Will be much more successful as pacMENU, believe me and all CLI haters out there.
