@whoisroot this package gets the sources from a git branch and provides a pkgver function so it should be named pacman-stable-fancy-progress-git

either please submit a package with the name pacman-stable-fancy-progress-git and request a merge or switch to a fixed version number without pkgver function

The package was marked as out-of-date 5 days ago. Apparently the official release follows the releases/7.0.x branch, and not the commit tag 7.0.0, so I reverted the sources to track the branch again.

Also, I fixed the botched License in the PKGBUILD. It's split into 2 commits with the same message because "I made a goof" and forgot to include the .SRCINFO file when commiting.

Hello!

Thanks for the tips, I added myself and the previous package owner in the credits and changed the sources to track the tag relative to the last release in the repositories.

I misunderstood the license bit and put the wrong string, but I'll fix that later.

As for the package name, is there an easy way to rename a package in AUR? Do I just change the PKGBUILD? Or do I have to create a new repo?

Hello,

  • stable typically don't have to be added to pkgname
  • this don't build from a fixed commit or tag
  • should use SPDX license identifier https://rfc.archlinux.page/0016-spdx-license-identifiers/ which Arch package is already using
  • in the credits you are missing and is listed another person

Your other 2 pkgbuild have issues with versioning etc.. I'll send you a patch when have a bit of time
