Yes, I think making new package with suffix -git is best option. Thanks for your fast responses.

It is; I used hg-git to do the push. But the PKGBUILD is downloading a tarball anyway, so it isn't a huge change.
Open to other hosting options, but I don't know of any off the top of my head for hg now that bitbucket doesn't support it.
We could also just go all in on switching to git I suppose (in which case I guess we should rename this package to pacsync-git). I haven't really decided what to do long term but this seemed like a good way to un-break the package.
Note that pacsync isn't actively developed; the last commit was eight years ago, and I don't even use it myself anymore -- though I'm happy to keep the PKGBUILD working if others are satisfied with it's current state.
