Done; there is a new package now. I'll go ahead and file a delete request for this one.

Yes, I think making new package with suffix -git is best option. Thanks for your fast responses.

It is; I used hg-git to do the push. But the PKGBUILD is downloading a tarball anyway, so it isn't a huge change.

Open to other hosting options, but I don't know of any off the top of my head for hg now that bitbucket doesn't support it.

We could also just go all in on switching to git I suppose (in which case I guess we should rename this package to pacsync-git). I haven't really decided what to do long term but this seemed like a good way to un-break the package.

Note that pacsync isn't actively developed; the last commit was eight years ago, and I don't even use it myself anymore -- though I'm happy to keep the PKGBUILD working if others are satisfied with it's current state.

Isn't Gitlab git only?

zerathidune commented on 2020-09-08 06:38 (UTC)

Done; pushed the source to Gitlab for now.

Bitbucket no longer hosts mercurial repositories, could you update this package?

zerathidune commented on 2014-03-19 07:32 (UTC)

I cleaned up the PKGBUILD a bit: * The url link had been dead for a long time; it now points to the bitbucket page. * The package function had a number of commands superfluously ending in || return 1. This used to be standard practice, but is no longer done. I also bumped the pkgrel. There are no functional changes; The files contained by the generated package are the same.
