I was talking with the people in Freenode #palemoon earlier today, and it seems they're not happy with how these precompiled binaries are being hotlinked from their server. I don't think they're going to do anything _right now_ to prevent this, but it's worth noting that the similar precompiled binaries for FossaMail (the Thunderbird fork by the same development team) are only available for download from FossHub, which generates per-download unique links (unsuitable for use in a PKGBUILD) - which will be part of the reason we don't currently have a FossaMail entry in the AUR... Perhaps it might be a good idea to either 1) have someone mirror these somewhere, as long as they're unaltered that's fine (doing it for FossaMail would be cool too, hint hint ;) ) 2) convince a TU to get palemoon into the official repos, presumably [community] What do you guys think?

25.7.1 should be available: http://linux.palemoon.org/download/mainline/

Using single quotes for creating a variable that contains another variable doesn't work. Change: provides=('palemoon=$pkgver') to: provides=("palemoon=$pkgver") Wrong: pacman -Qi palemoon-bin ... Provides : palemoon=$pkgver ... Right: pacman -Qi palemoon-bin ... Provides : palemoon=25.7.0 ...

Depending on your system it makes either the 32 or 64-bit version.

Is this the 64bit version?
