@jneidel the replacement for fprintd is actually https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/open-fprintd, i'm planning on making another package, maybe something like pam-open-fprint-grosshack with that dependency change, please give me a couple of weeks

edit: here is the rfc I made, if you want to keep an eye on progress: https://github.com/uunicorn/open-fprintd/issues/15

I used this on sddm, hyprlock and polkit-1 according the the Wiki instruction:

auth sufficient pam_fprintd_grosshack.so
auth sufficient pam_unix.so try_first_pass nullok

But it caused a bug. The fingerprint doesn't work, only the password. Pressing my finger doesn't do anything, not even an error.

Note: I use Hyprland+Arch and I replaced fprintd with fprintd-clients-git as the dependency in the PKGBUILD file.

I'm using fprintd-clients instead of fprintd. Because fprintd is listed as a dependency I can't install this package. If I download the PKGBUILD and remove the dependency everything runs fine.

Maybe make both fprintd and fprintd-clients optional dependencies?

Using this with SDDM for KDE causes my login server to crash when using password to login... fingerprint is fine, but password is a no-go. Any ideas?
