Sure, will do in next bump.

@felixonmars: would you put a replaces=('pandoc-static') on your package so people can upgrade to the package in community?

runical commented on 2016-01-10 15:40

@felix: Ah, I didn't know you maintained the earlier versions as well since these versions do not need all the libraries. It is good to know you intend to maintain them for a while.

felixonmars commented on 2016-01-10 15:27

@runical Yes, I already maintained it for a while, and planning to continue since I have several python packages that has depends/makedepends on it.

runical commented on 2016-01-10 15:16

@fauno: That was my exact thought when I saw it. Hence my question about the differences. It seems to be equivalent and smaller in size (installing static requires about 30 MiB more).

@felix: You are planning on maintaining these packages for a while?

felixonmars commented on 2016-01-10 15:09

@jakob pandoc and pandoc-citeproc should be enough. I don't think pandoc-static here includes pandoc-crossref :)

fauno commented on 2016-01-10 14:50

@felixonmars @jakob @runical if the package doesn't require haskell installed to be functional there's no need to maintain pandoc-static anymore :)

jakob commented on 2016-01-10 14:45

@felixonmars: Which packages do we need to install to be equivalent to pandoc-static here? pandoc, pandoc-citeproc, pandoc-crossref? Or more?

felixonmars commented on 2016-01-10 14:37

@runical cabal-install wasn't involved in the build process, data files are not embedded, and pandoc libraries are provided as separate packages. There are also tools like pandoc-crossref and hakyll provided.

@felixonmars: Could you explain what the differences are between your new pandoc packages in [community] and pandoc-static here? The main differences I have found are that the packages are split in citeproc and pandoc. Any other major differences?
