I don't know what you mean, these are all git packages, there's nothing to upgrade.

Markus commented on 2016-03-23 13:58

alucryd, Do u plan to upgrade DE and apps for new eOS 0.4? Thanks.

electricprism commented on 2015-12-05 11:37

@tsteinholz - Still broken :(
Althought at least pantheon-lite builds atm.

tsteinholz commented on 2015-11-20 01:57

This PKGBUILD is out of date... The file "debian/pantheon.desktop" does not exist in the repository http://bazaar.launchpad.net/~elementary-os/elementaryos/pantheon-xsession-settings/files/head:/debian/

tbitai commented on 2015-09-19 17:14

Build fails with

==> Starting prepare()...
sed: can't read debian/pantheon.desktop: No such file or directory

I added #revision=62 to the end of the Launchpad URL in the PKGBUILD's source=() array (because, as "r62-1" in the package name suggests, it was developed for revision 62), and managed to build and install the package without errors.

johnnyfreeman: I've taken over gala-bzr since I've grown tired of its maintainer ignoring me. It is now fixed.

"This package depends on plank, but gala-bzr depends on plank-bzr. They fail in conflict." ~ terinjokes

I'm hitting this wall as well. Is there anyway around this?

alucryd commented on 2013-11-10 11:07

gala-bzr in my repo does not depend on granite-bzr, and granite-bzr provides granite, there is no conflict there... I'm not responsible for mistakes in packages I don't maintain so take it to gala-bzr.

Seems like this package depends on wingpanel (of course), that depends on granite, but (again) gala-bzr depends on granite-bzr. They fall in conflict...

I see the bug has been resolved, any chance on an update to this package? Thanks for all your work

alucryd commented on 2013-08-02 21:07

The pantheon session launches okay, but since wingpanel doesn't work right now, you only get a black screen. I have filed a bug for wingpanel, but still no fix unfortunately. https://bugs.launchpad.net/wingpanel/+bug/1192886

capybara commented on 2013-08-02 18:53

tried to run pantheon-session through lightdm with gtk3-greeter. didn't work, screen remains black. i installed only the pantheon-session-bzr, am i doing something wrong, do i need anything else?

alucryd commented on 2013-06-13 12:48

Nierro: You'd have to manually start everything in there: http://bazaar.launchpad.net/~elementary-os/elementaryos/pantheon-xsession-settings-luna/files/head:/autostart/
There will be a pantheon-session in the future (https://launchpad.net/pantheon-session) but for now you should use a DM imho. Try lightdm with gtk3 greeter, I still haven't worked around the issues with the pantheon greeter.
Also, I'll update the URL, thx for the heads up.

Nierro commented on 2013-06-12 11:47

Ok, url has canghed to : elementary-os/elementaryos/pantheon-xsession-settings-luna.
But it seems i cannot find "pantheon-session" in /usr/bin...how am i suppose to run pantheon? (without any login manager)

Nierro commented on 2013-06-12 11:22

Error here:

i solved changing 'plank-bzr' by 'pantheon-dock-bzr' in gala-bzr PKGBUILD as you said on https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/pantheon-dock-bzr/ Comments. Thanks!

Senth commented on 2012-12-17 03:07

Thanks, i did it the problem persist.. pantheon-session-bzr depend from gala-bzr, and gala-bzr depend from plank-bzr. Then plank-bzr and pantheon-dock-bzr fall in conflict.

alucryd commented on 2012-12-14 11:31

pantheon-dock-bzr provides plank-bzr. You can also ask the gala maintainer to depend on pantheon-dock-bzr as it should, instead of plank-bzr.

z0w0 commented on 2012-12-14 11:05

gala-bzr depends on plank-bzr which conflicts with pantheon-dock-bzr, so how is this meant to work?

alucryd commented on 2012-12-13 18:39

You've got to remove plank-bzr and anything that depends on it, and then you'll be able to install pantheon-session-bzr. Another (dirty) way is this: 'yaourt -Rdd plank-bzr && yaourt -S pantheon-dock-bzr' then you'll be able to install pantheon-session-bzr.

Senth commented on 2012-12-13 18:10

hi, i installed pantheon-dock-bzr first but it's still in confict with plank-bzr when i try to install pantheon-session-bzr. What can i do? Thanks and sorry if i made english mistakes.

alucryd commented on 2012-12-06 16:35

URL updated. Using faience doesn't work here. Hope elementary devs will switch to GNOME 3.6 in the near future.

n00b commented on 2012-12-06 16:20

the look of wingpanel, can be solved setting a gtk3 theme (the only one that i've found fully compatible with pantheon and gtk 3.6 on arch in evolve, the elementary theme causes graphical glitch, especially on indicators)

ps: update also the url in the pkg

alucryd commented on 2012-12-06 15:35

@n00b: Thx, the package now works as it should (though wingpanel looks ugly). pantheon and sound indicators work too.

n00b commented on 2012-12-06 07:27

https://code.launchpad.net/~elementary-os/elementaryos/pantheon-xsession-settings, here there are the session file used from eos to launch pantheon with gnome-session, so this packege should be corrected to use this.

http://pastebin.com/dcbtrFkm for me this modified pkgbuild of wingpanel run fine even with indicators

OK, I see the situation. Thank you very much.

alucryd commented on 2012-11-30 07:14

@xyz3186: Read below. Pantheon-Session does not work at the moment, I've tried modifying it to launch gala and cerbere instead, but I can't load two executables instead of pantheon-session. Only way I've found for now is load your regular gnome session, and run "gala --replace" followed by "cerbere". You should note that your wingpanel will be empty, apart from slingshot. Every indicator I've tried to install made wingpanel crash at start.

xzy3186 commented on 2012-11-30 01:17

thanks. I can install this package now. Another question is how to launch the pantheon-session? I tried to run it via gdm but returned to login screen after a few seconds. The log file under my home directory is empty. Do you have any idea on that?

alucryd commented on 2012-11-30 00:04

@xzy3186: pantheon-dock-bzr provides plank-bzr so there should be no dependency problem, just install pantheon-dock-bzr first.

xzy3186 commented on 2012-11-29 23:26

This package required plank-bzr which is one of the dependencies of gala-bzr conflicted with pantheon-dock-bzr.

alucryd commented on 2012-11-23 16:20

@helmuthdu: You're right I should learn to read sometime^^ I'll try fiddling with cerbere and see if I can get it to work (just launching it from a terminal throws a lot of errors about wingpanel, but well, gnome-shell is already running).

helmuthdu commented on 2012-11-23 15:36

at the title of the pantheon-session in launchpad:
This programm is currently not used see https://launchpad.net/cerbere for our current way of launching and monitoring pantheon

alucryd commented on 2012-11-21 17:03

Anyone who can make this work, please share it here. The bug reported here https://bugs.launchpad.net/pantheon-session/+bug/1000170 is what I get when I try to launch the session in a terminal, launching it with gdm leads me to a black screen and back to gdm.
