With the rename, trayfreq-set is no longer called, but paramano-set instead. I should've mentioned that /usr/bin/trayfreq and /usr/bin/trayfreq-set are now merely symlinks for backwards compatability. For more up-to-date instructions, please see: https://github.com/phillid/paramano/#changing-the-governorfrequency-doesnt-work

Hi! I'm starting paramano via my xinitrc, this means that i am not able to change the frequency because of not having the right permissions. In the trayfreq-archlinux comment section you once told me to change the permission of trayfreq-set, now i'd like to do the same to paramano-set, but i can't find the comment anymore. The suggested way of editing the sudoers file didn't help either. Thank you.

Note that there is a pending request on `trayfreq-archlinux` to be merged into `paramano` due to the software being renamed upstream. Switching to paramano will require manual transfer of your configuration from /etc/trayfreq.conf to /etc/paramano.conf and ~/.trayfreq.conf to ~/.paramano.conf For the curious, the rename is hapenning for three reasons: 1) trayfreq-archlinux was really only a temporary name 2) The -archlinux suffix implies the software is specific to archlinux 3) Calling this software trayfreq-(anything) isn't right as it has no affiation with trayfreq, except for once having the same source code. Thanks for your understanding. Cheers

I've been moving servers and didn't think to re-upload my PKGBUILDs. Fixed now

Hum, no I don't want to uninstall the intel_pstate driver. It's certainly a good solution to keep it as it is installed by default for me, arch maintainer take care to this. I've searched for another solution, so found 2 coupled : 1 automatic, cpufreqd (daemon) with configuration when plug-in battery and plug-off and other automatic features. 1 manual, just made 2 launchers on my desktop with these 2 commands : 'sudo cpupower frequency-set -g performance' 'sudo cpupower frequency-set -g powersave' And click on "run it in a terminal" then after made it executable, it runs, opens a terminal and just have to enter sudo password. Perhaps I'll retry your solution in a few months. It was certainly a good software but unfortunately not suitable with a simple install. You'll certainly find a solution to make it run with intel_pstate, most of PC will have it quickly...

In that case, the only option at this point is for you to disable intel_pstate and let the kernel fall back on the more widely supported acpi_cpufreq module. According to [1], you can configure your bootloader to tell the kernel to disable the intel_pstate module. It's up to you though. [1] https://bbs.archlinux.org/viewtopic.php?pid=1272161#p1272161
