When attempting to upgrade from an older version, pacaur tries to install kpmcore-git but fails because the older version of partitionmanager-git owns some files kpmcore-git is trying to install.
Easy enough to uninstall partitionmanager and reinstall, but it may be worthwhile to see if anything in the package functions can handle that particular scenario.
This may be relevant, so I'm including it:
$ pacaur -Qo /usr/lib/libkpmcore.so
/usr/lib/libkpmcore.so is owned by partitionmanager-git 1.2.1.r921.a630a5c-1

@sl1pkn07, the package version is wrong! I have the same error of @Frontier:
"(...) most AUR helpers (Octopi, PacmanXG etc) keep reporting that the package needs updating."
aur/partitionmanager-git v1.2.0.r.-1 -> v1.2.0.r885.c0307bf-1
sl1pkn07 commented on 2015-02-06 14:34
the package version is like a upstream version

Hi,
There is something wrong with the package version string; even after updating, most AUR helpers (Octopi, PacmanXG etc) keep reporting that the package needs updating.

Hi,
'extra-cmake-modules' should be added to makedepends.
Moreover the compilation fails with the following error:
CMake Error at CMakeLists.txt:52 (find_package):
Could not find a package configuration file provided by "KF5" with any of
the following names:
KF5Config.cmake
kf5-config.cmake

OK, done

It is useful if you use a local repo, or if you build this package for an unofficial repo.
I build partitionmanager fir archlinuxgr repo I had to use both replaces= and conflicts=
arojas commented on 2014-02-17 11:50
@qqqqqqqqq9 is that really useful? Is there any AUR client that takes into account the replaces= field? Probably a conflicts= would make more sense.
qqqqqqqqq9 commented on 2014-02-17 11:10
Hi,
Could you add a replaces=("partitionmanager-svn") -field?
arojas commented on 2014-02-15 15:37
@sl1pkn07 should be fixed now, I forgot to enable udisks2 support
sl1pkn07 commented on 2014-02-15 15:19
don't recognized all my devices and if recognized, some view like empty
partitionmamager-svn rev 1367112 works for me
arojas commented on 2014-02-15 13:36
I uploaded partitionmanager-git and will ask for this to be merged there:
https://aur.archlinux.org/packages/partitionmanager-git/
@adaptee: I have no special interest in maintaining it, if you want to, just let me know and I will orphan it for you.
F1nny commented on 2014-02-12 23:05
Is adaptee still around? Anyone have the git URL to swap in the PKGBUILD? Thanks!
Anonymous comment on 2014-02-02 23:03
git repository url needs to be changed in the PKGBUILD
arojas commented on 2014-01-21 09:12
This project has moved to git
VlaoMao commented on 2013-09-22 07:47
Wow! It's working again!
faktorqm commented on 2013-09-22 05:36
This package works like a charm. It's not an option to use gparted. gparted didn't work for certain actions (for example, I cannot do repartitioning on a Nokia N9 device) and I do it with partition manager. Regards!
Aetf commented on 2013-06-25 04:07
The latest version has fixed the bug and It works fine now.
piedro commented on 2013-05-26 15:55
Hi!
I just tested to install this. It does compile and install, but doesn't work, as stated before. At least for the moment this doesn't work.
sry, p.

@digitalone, no it is not dead by any standard. NO FUD, please.
digitalone commented on 2013-04-23 14:12
No, this utility is dead. Use gparted.
Anonymous comment on 2013-04-23 13:03
All partitions are declared "unknown"...update needed?
digitalone commented on 2013-03-07 14:07
This utility can't find other partitions...
eticre commented on 2013-02-13 20:42
Not work.
After the last kde upgrade do not find partitions.
Thaodan commented on 2012-11-25 12:52
You may add this:
sed -i -e "s:Exec=partitionmanager
:Exec=kdesu partitionmanager
:g" ${pkgdir}/usr/share/applications/kde4/partitionmanager.desktop || return 1
to package()?

Last update as seen on official site says "2011-05-11"
So it is not out-of-date. Somebody incorrectly marked it.
Besides, it built fine and worked with no problems.
Anonymous comment on 2012-04-18 12:32
Why is this marked as "out-of-date"?
mzecher commented on 2012-03-27 20:17
I also can see my usb devices, but not SD cards (which I can see without problems with gparted).
fettouhi commented on 2012-03-13 10:46
@Korcia: Well, I don't see my external usb devices. Partitionmanager logout put gives an error saying " Could not access /dev/sdX" where X goes from c to f. A and b are my to internal drives I run in a raid 0 (doftware raid). My usb device is mounted at /dev/sdi. So I don't understand why it only scans up to f?
Anonymous comment on 2012-03-11 15:27
@fettouhi, I can see my external usb devices.
Thanks, I rebuilt the package and everything is now working fine.
fettouhi commented on 2012-03-10 10:54
Can anyone get partitionmanager to see external usb devices? I wanted to repartition my usb stick but partitionmanager doesn't see it all.
@Korcia: try to rebuild the package.
PS. GParted sees my usb stick just fine.

After upgrading parted to 3.1-1 (3rd March 2011) I get this error:
Error: Could Not Load Backend Plugin
Neither the configured ("pmlibpartedbackendplugin") nor the default ("pmlibpartedbackendplugin") backend plugin could be loaded.
Please check your installation.
lucak3 commented on 2011-09-07 08:57
Seems ok now, thanks for reporting :)
Anonymous comment on 2011-09-06 23:16
I just tried it and it seems to be building correctly against libparted 3.0 (7th September 2011).
lucak3 commented on 2011-08-18 12:06
I thought my comment from 30th July was clear enough: Arch has packaged parted 3 and this project does NOT support it for the moment.
Trying to compile it will result in the exact error you just posted.

'pkgconfig' not needed in makedeps. It's in 'base-devel'.
Anonymous comment on 2010-08-31 16:57
it depends on svn
robertfoster commented on 2010-05-16 16:09
it requires libatasmart
Try install kpmcore-git
