@coxackie, thank you, both for the advice and the systemd makedep context. Agree about the pcloudcom repo, but I will keep the PR open just in case they do revive it.
(As a side note re: systemd, I know it's a bit of a "grenade" topic in some circles and I hesitated to bring it up for that reason, but my question extends no further than, "Is this really necessary?" When the makedep was added it appears it was, though when I tried to build in a chroot (my version), it compiled fine without. Possible some things have changed since then. The point is a bit moot if the upstream is dead, though...)
Anyhow, I will probably take your advice and create my own package to track the fork. Will also continue to co-maintain here, of course.
(Planned package for those interested will most likely be something boring and unoriginal like pcloudcc-git-lneely
.)

@lkn couple things:
(1) in all probability, pcloudcom will not merge the PRs. They have been inactive for way too long. There are two paths, the way I see it. Either updated this package to point to your PR for building, or actually create a new package that will follow your fork (with an appropriate name that will reflect that this is a fork). The latter is potentially a more sane approach, as this package should be kept for the original repo, no matter how outdated it is.
(2) the systemd dependence came after a lengthy discussion here; please go to page 2 or so of the comments here, and look at the arguments of MountainX and Scimmia. It felt they were technically correct at the moment, although I do not have strong feelings either way.

@coxackie Thanks for the add. As you know, I've already pushed some fixes upstream, still waiting on pcloudcom to merge them.
Would like to remove the systemd make dependency in PKGBUILD; building pcloudcc does not require it, and it does not obviously add any functionality.

I have done some work to automate starting pcloudcc with expect and 1password-cli.

@goetzc I have no platform other than x86_64 to check building, and since upstream is not pro-active at all with the repo, I do not want to find myself in the situation that I have to answer questions on building on arm (that I will not even be able to answer). The comments below should suffice for anyone who wants to do this locally on their machine.

What about patching the Makefile in prepare()
to use -mtune=native
GCC parameter?
jean-michel commented on 2022-01-19 07:59 (UTC)
@vlas Yes, that I did indeed. I compiled directly from your GitHub repo and everything went fine. :)
I've just changed for -mtune=native. Next time, I'll use -mtune=arm7
I've noticed libraries are compiled using CMakeFile; but one that use Makefile.

@vlas most probably the 2FA thing, but anyway this is an issue to be taken up with upstream. Nothing wrong with the package being able to build here.
