Actually, it seems to put the files into the home folder only and not install anything into /usr/share/...

package creates a bunch of folders and files in the current users home folder during configuration/build. It is strongly recommended that everything is kept within the temporary build directory. In my case it created ~/.cpan and ~/perl5 and populated them with various files.

great question. I am using the latest package build from the AUR. Tried with packer and tried makepkg manually. For some reason, perl-module-build was broken. I rebuilt module-build and then perl-encode-detect installed with no errors.

Package breaks on make with permissions error. /usr/bin/perl Build --makefile_env_macros 1 install Building Module-Build !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
