I also experienced that problem, and I believe that is caused by a bad configure test (the one checking for boost::regex). But after removing the failing test from the generated configure file I've ran into other problems: configure reports that it cannot find libgc, even though it is installed, and after looking at config.log I have found that the related g++ command actually fails because of an invalid argument: -R/usr/local/lib. I have absolutely no idea where does that come from.
It should be reported as a bug, but I don't know where. Is it a problem with phc or autoconf or something else?

You're welcome to fix it.

'svn' should be added to makedepends.

Why's that? It's an svn build of phc.

The package name is a bit misleading...
