I added code that fetches position of currently playing song (mpris2.c is here http://pastebin.com/TC7yA7it).
Now, there seems to be a problem: it seems the plugin ignores (and stores result) of the first invocation of /nowplaying and subsequent /nowplaying get previously stored results (instead of current).
Do you have any idea of what's going on?

It's different because it supports MPRIS2. This makes it work with Clementine and mostlikely some other players that support MPRIS2. So yes I would say it's better than the plain version.

Nice package. Can you briefly say why is this package different than pidgin-musictracker? Also, is mpris2 patch better than using plain plugin?
