I was able to reproduce this using an AUR manager, but not when using makepkg directly. Unfortunately, I no longer use Pike and am probably not the right person to own this anymore. As a result, I am disowning this. Hopefully somebody with more time and dedication can take ownership.

@meanjollies I can confirm this on pure arch. No special makepkg.conf

configure: error:

rusage.c does not work in CONFIGURE_TEST mode. This is an internal
problem in Pike. configure aborted since further configure tests will
be unreliable.

==> ERROR: A failure occurred in build().
    Aborting...
 -> error making: pike-exit status 4
 -> Failed to install the following packages. Manual intervention is required:
pike - exit status 4

Cloning and building manually didn't help

@kseistrup I'm not able to reproduce that error, unfortunately. It builds successfully even in a clean chroot environment. Can you confirm you're seeing this on Arch Linux (and not Manjaro or otherwise)? Also, do you have any special makepkg.conf settings?

The latest packe (8.0.1738-1) doesn't build for me:

The package is orphaned, just go ahaid and apply the suggested changes yourself.

There's a new version available: 8.0.182 And link to 8.0.164 is not working anymore. Switch maybe to those links: http://pike.lysator.liu.se/pub/pike/all/8.0.164/Pike-v8.0.164.tar.gz http://pike.lysator.liu.se/pub/pike/all/8.0.182/Pike-v8.0.182.tar.gz Those are kept since version 0.1 EDIT: and that issue with /usr/lib64 would be nice to get fixed ;)

I don't know how you avoid: error: failed to commit transaction (conflicting files) pike: /usr/lib64 exists in filesystem But I still need the libdir_reset patch, uploaded an updated version here: http://www.spawned.biz/the_jk/pike-disable_libdir_reset-1.patch (patch(1) incorrectly detects the old patch as already applied)
