I'm fine with the git package. I prefer to compile it by myself, because I'm mantaining one the translations. But it's good that both packages are actively mantained now. :)

No problem, tichy. I also am maintaining http://aur.archlinux.org/packages/pioneer/ if you do not want as many updates as the git version. The Pioneer team appears to be tagging a release about every 1-2 weeks.
