It sounds like you might be confusing two things: The tarball from github (pkgclip-1.1.0.tar.gz) is the source code, used to build the package, so there is indeed no PKGBUILD in there. What aurget downloads, I assume, is the tarball from the AUR (pkgclip.tar.gz), that will (here) only contain the PKGBUILD (it could also have patches, .install files, etc). Once you have the files from the AUR tarball (here only the PKGBUILD) you can use makepkg to make the package, it will then download the source code (from github), check the md5sum (which shall pass) and create the package.

I think I found a problem - when I download from the github link for the package I get a gzip file with no PKGBUILD file in the archive. When I download using AURGET, I get an archive with the PKGBUILD, but a different md5sum value (of course). The md5sum for the file without the PKGBUILD file matches the md5sum in the PKGBUILD. Seems that something is out of sync here. I will go ahead and install, but not sure what is happening.

Well, the PKGBUILD has the right md5sum, I just tried again and it downloaded fine. I don't know how aurget works, but maybe try downloading the file manually using another tool (e.g. wget).

I get a md5sums error on pkgclip-1.1.0.tar.gz for the upgrade. I have downloaded three times and still get it (using aurget). I know how to override but don't want to if I think the package is corrupt. Not having the issue for any other packages. Love the program!!
