OK, so I redid my arch installation, and installed wine and playonlinux. I discovered that playonlinux did not render anything. NOTHING. I found out that wine package uses wow64 and doesn't need ANY 32bit programs from multilib anymore. It had been several years since I did an install so this was surprising to me even though it's not new.
I'm theorizing that the wow64 stuff is not compatible with playonlinux, and therefore the wine package in depends might need to be changed to wine32. I'm in the process of testing this theory now. If it works, then i'm open to suggestion. Building wine is a PITA. If there's another option i'm open to it. Or maybe i'm missing something. Thanks!

If you get errors with the build due to patching problems let me know. But i think this should be fine.

I'm a little hesitant to adopt a dead project, as i'm more of packager rather than a developer and don't have the skills to delve deep into the code. But I certainly can at least try to fix this.

This is an orphan package, anyone can adopt and fix it.

@username227
Here is the workaround:

I hope it will be added to package as a fix.

After python 3.14 update, playonlinux won't start. get the following error:
I tried reinstalling python-urllib3 with new python but didn't help.

I take care of the maintenance of the package for the moment, I have just installed it and test it everything looks good, no error. If you have problems do not hesitate to ping me to look at what is blocking.

There is a typo in the source definition, missign a plus sign and https. it should be:
source=("${_pkgname}::git+https://github.com/PlayOnLinux/POL-POM-4.git")Raansu commented on 2018-12-27 06:03 (UTC)
I got a message on starting that 'jq' was suggested to be installed. Could you please add that to opt-depends?
